People have been talking endlessly all day about the possibility that physicists at cern have found the Higgs Boson. Basically, people have just been going mental over the blip in this graph (around 125GeV).

I do find this very exciting though, the ATLAS experiment are 98% sure they have found it and CMS are 94%. More data is required before we can call this a discovery, a Sigma-5 statistical significance is required, so by next Christmas I’m confident we could confirm it’s existance.

Doppler effect
